Getting started with Hextom Timer bar (CTB)

Welcome to the Countdown timer bar!

Countdown Timer Bar can help you add a sense of urgency to your sales events, make your customers feel they must act now to avoid missing out on something important and drive more sales. The App supports various types of timers, such as one-time, auto-recurring, daily & weekly timers. You can use them for different sales events.
 

Creating a Countdown Timer Bar

There are a lot of features and timer types that you may want to use... but to quickly setup a new bar, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Create New Bar button


  1. Select a template

Once you select a template, you will see a preview of how it will look on your website.
(The templates on the right are premium templates and will only save if you are on the premium plan)
 

  1. Configure the bar

There are many configuration options offered in the app. To get started quickly, you need to ensure that the following options are configured.
  1. Message before and after the timer: This is where you can input the message that will appear on the bar


  2. Call to action:- By default, the bar adds a clickable button to the bar. When customers click that button, they will be redirected to the page of your choice. You can set the link address to where the customers will be redirected. 


    - You can also opt to make the entire bar clickable, without displaying a button. To do so, set the Bar Clickable option to 'Make the entire bar clickable'.


    - To not display any button and not have the bar be clickable, simply set the bar clickable option to 'Do not make the bar clickable'




  3. Timer configuration: There are 4 types of timers to choose from when you are in the premium plan, but for the free plan, the standard timer is available. In the example below, this is the standard timer that will start upon saving the bar and it will count down to July 02, 2024, 12:00 AM.


There are many other settings that you can configure, but for now, you can scroll all the way to the bottom and click save. 


If you visit your store, the bar should now be at the top of the page.

Editing your timer bar

Now that you have created a bar, you can edit it. To do so, go back to the app's dashboard.
Click on the  Edit button in the row of the bar you'd like to edit.
 

 

The bar's configurations will open up. You can make any edits you need, and then save your bar. When the page in your store is refreshed, the bar's changes will be applied.
