Getting Started with Hextom Timer Bar

Welcome to the Countdown Timer Bar!

The Countdown Timer Bar is a powerful tool that helps create urgency during your store’s sales events. By adding a visible countdown to your store, you encourage customers to act quickly, boosting conversions and driving more sales.

The app supports various timer types, including one-time, auto-recurring, daily, and weekly timers. With multiple timer types and customization options, you can tailor your bar to fit a variety of sales events and promotions.

Creating a Countdown Timer Bar

1. Click on Create New Bar button from the app dashboard.

   
   

   

   
   

2. Select the timer type that suits your campaign. Each type has its unique behavior:

   
   

   1. Standard: A simple timer that counts down from a start time to an end time.

   2. Daily: A timer that repeats daily. Can follow either the merchant's or the customer's time zone.

   3. Interval: A timer that runs for a fixed interval, then pauses, and repeats.

   4. Session: A timer that starts when a customer first visits your site.

   
   

   

   
   
3. Select a template. Once you select a template, you will see a preview of how it will look on your website. (The templates on the right are premium templates and will only save if you are on the premium plan)

4. Next is to configure the bar's content & style. There are many configuration options offered in the app, and you need to ensure that the following options are configured.

• Name: This is the name of the bar, and it is only visible to you.

  
  

  

  
  
• Message before & after timer: This is where you can input the message that will appear on the bar.
  
  

• Call to action: You have the option to add a clickable button to the bar. When customers click that button, they will be redirected to the page of your choice. You can set the link address to where the customers will be redirected.

  
  

  You can also choose to make the entire bar clickable, without displaying a button. To do so, set the Bar Clickable option to Make the entire bar clickable.

  
  

  To not display any button and not have the bar be clickable, simply set the bar clickable option to None.

  
  

  There's also an option to add a close button (X) to your bar.

  
  

  

  
  

• Then next is the styling. Here you can edit the following:

  
  

  - Font Style & Size

  - Padding: Adjust space above and below the text.

  
  

  Note: Bar height is affected by font size and padding. Padding is capped on mobile devices unless the bar is mobile-only.

  - Text Color

  - Background Color

  - Background Opacity: Range from 0 (transparent) to 1 (solid)

  - Background Style: Options are Single Color, Gradient, Pattern Image, & Fitted Image

  
  

  

  
  

5. For timer configuration, you can do the following:

   
   

   - You can change your selected Timer Type

   - Set Timer Display Time: Display now or Schedule to display at a specific time

   - Set End Time (for countdown)

   - Select the Timer Style: Flip Clock, Plain Numbers, Square Tiles, Circle Tiles, or None (hide timer)

   - Enable/disable Timer Labels (Days, Hours, Minutes, Seconds)

   - Choose Label Language

   - Set Timer Background Color & Digit Color

   
   

   

6. In the Display Configuration, you can choose how and where your bar appears. Available display positions are at the top of the page (with a different options of behavior), bottom of the page, below Add To Cart button on the product page, and Custom Placement.

   
   

   

   
   

7. After that is the targeting configuration and you can configure here where will the bar display and not display. Targeting options are:

   
   

   - Page Targeting

   - Device Targeting

   - Customer Targeting

   - Shopify Markets Targeting

   - Visitor Source / UTM Code

   
   

   

8. Then at the end is the Custom Code section. This is where you can add custom styling or scripts that will run when the bar loads. It is designed to allow merchants and their developers more flexibility over the app.

   
   

   

9. To save the bar, you can scroll all the way to the bottom and click the Save button.

   
   

   

   
   

Editing a Countdown Timer Bar

To edit your bar, return to the app dashboard, locate the bar you want to make some changes, and click Edit button.
